Prizes and awards

Barbaresco production is Punset's spearhead, and Barbaresco Docg Riserva Basarin is its flagship wine, establishing its reputation annually in the wine press. Barbaresco Docg Riserva Basarin is the only Barbaresco ever to have been included in the prestigious world classification "The top 100 wines of the year" by the American magazine The Wine Spectator, both in 1994 and again in 2012.

Cellar techniques

This wine is produced according to traditional and natural methods exclusively with grapes cultivated with organic methods in the area of MeGA Basarin in the municipality of Neive. The grapes, after being carefully selected, are placed in spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts. Maceration lasts for four weeks or more, then the wine is placed in traditional Slavonian oak barrels where it remains for at least twenty-four months. Bottling takes place in the summer and a long period in the bottle prepares the wine for release on the market. Because of the long aging period, it is customary to offer this Barbaresco with the Riserva designation. Barbaresco Docg Basarin is an organic product certified by Ecogruppo Italia.
